Nondual Recovery first appeared online in May 2025, here at www.nondualrecovery.com. Since then it has been growing slowly, from seed to fruit. Chapters have been corrected, edited, and expanded, and the whole has taken clearer shape with each revision. The edition launched today is very close to the final version, which will be published as a paperback book in the near future.
Along the way, I faced a few decisions that shaped what you’re reading now, and I want to share them with you.
The first was whether to release part of the book online, or all of it. This was a difficult choice. In the end, I recognized that my goal was not to promote myself or to seek profit, but to get the message to as many people as possible. Many people who would never buy a book will read a website. Some will skim for the sections most relevant to their lives. Others will come back again and again until they’ve worked through the whole book in order. Both ways of reading are welcome here, and offering the full text freely makes both possible.
The second was length. At more than 100,000 words, the book can feel daunting, comparable in scope to texts like the NA Basic Text. But I felt this length was necessary. Nonduality is a comprehensive approach that touches every aspect of individual and collective life, and I wanted to illustrate that concretely rather than simply assert it. Only a treatment at this length could begin to do justice to that fact. You don’t have to read it all at once. You only have to begin.
The third was whether to write under my own name or a pen name. Although the May 2025 edition mentioned my name, I’ve since chosen to avail myself of Tenet 12, which holds that anonymity is a practice and a choice. Anonymity seems better suited to the nature of this project at this time. It keeps the focus on the message rather than the messenger. Still, I reserve the right to pull back the veil in the future, if it feels right for me and for whatever movement might arise from this new methodology for recovery.
Thank you for being part of this book’s journey. It has been a long season of growth, and the fruit is nearly ripe. I hope you’ll find something in it that nourishes you.
