Welcome
Nondual Recovery (a.k.a. “The Violet Book”) is a free online resource offering a new way to recover from addictions and avoidances through integrative and nondual philosophy.
If you have tried to recover before, you may know what it is to be at war with yourself: one part wanting to stop, another wanting to keep going, and much of what passes for recovery amounting to arming the first against the second. People do get better that way. But many find the fighting never ends, and that a life spent holding the line is a narrow sort of freedom.
Nondual Recovery begins somewhere else. Drawing on contemplative and holistic approaches to recovery, it holds that the war rests on a mistake — the one who craves and the one who resists were never two people to begin with. There is no enemy within to defeat.
Nor does it matter much what you are recovering from. Drinking, another substance, food, sexual compulsions, overworking, overeating, or runaway spending and consuming: the reaching underneath them is the same, and so is the way out.
